David Baker began working with clay in Toronto in 1970, apprenticing for five years with the talented potter Eva East. David has done extensive teaching of pottery in Toronto, Peterborough, Lindsay and Cobourg. During that time, maintaining his own studio, David's work concentrated mostly on functional pieces such as plates, casseroles, teapots, and mugs. Over time he became more interested in colour as well as form.
