Illustrative Watercolour II/III (Tuesday Aft) with Dwayne James
Tuesday 11-2 pm

There will be no classes during March Break (March 17)

Have you ever wanted to create hyper-detailed, illustrative watercolours that enhance or even warp reality? It’s surprisingly easy, especially if you can take advantage of science and technology in the planning stages.

In this ten week course, you will be guided through the planning and production of an illustrative, photo-realistic watercolour painting that is based on your own choice of subjects. You will be encouraged to use your imagination and create a finished image that is based on a real subject, but changes it in unique ways that couldn’t be captured with conventional photography.

Most of you have been taught to paint what you see; this course will teach you to paint what you want to see.

Hyper Realism - Oil Painting (Wednesday Evenings)
with Alex Bierk

Wednesday 6-9 p.m.

There will be no class during March Break (March 18)

Offering students with any level of experience an opportunity to learn how to paint using the grid technique - using black and white oil paint to transfer a source image onto canvas. The class is as much about teaching the process as it is how to paint. The first source image will be provided after which students can choose to use their own source material as they continue on. Previous students that have started a portrait can continue to paint and complete their painting in this class.

This process is very detailed, but highly successful.

It is mandatory that all new students attend the first week as canvases will be given out and prep work for painting will be given, and students will have a tour of Alex's Studio. Please come with a pencil and ruler first week.

Material Fee - $70
(for Canvas and printing) Students still need to purchase brushes and paints

New Students please register by Jan 5th to allow time for material preparation.
