The Art of Gifting

Dear Artists and Artisans,

The Art School of Peterborough is celebrating the upcoming Christmas season and invites you to participate in The Art of Gifting.
The purpose is to engage the public with buying local and supporting our local artists while bringing attention to the School and its many activities. This is an opportunity for local exhibitors to show and sell their products to the general public. It is an indoor event, and tables will be provided for exhibitors.
There is no admission charge for visitors. Space is limited. Applicants will be considered based on date of receipt of application, type of art/craft, and fit with the target audience.

There will be no Booth fee.

A commission will be taken on all sales: 35% Non Members, 30% for Members

Payment for items sold will be taken through the Art School of Peterborough, a cheque will be written on November 21st 2017, for the items sold for each individual artist.

Tables: 3” x 6” tables will be provided.

Rules and Regulations

• Given this event is a fundraiser for the Art School of Peterborough.
• Original work produced by the applicant must make up the primary focus of the display.
Reproductions/editions, if used, should be only a minor focus (notecard reproductions of artwork, etc.) All work must be hand-crafted products and made in Canada. Acceptance as an exhibitor to The Art of Gifting Event is at the discretion of the Peterborough Art of Gifting Organizing Committee in order to maintain the variety and quality of product offerings.
• Exhibitors are requested to send pictures of their recent work and booth to aid in the selection process. Include a SASE. for return of pictures if desired.
• Set-up time is from 7:30 to 9 am on the day of The Art of Gifting. It is not possible to set up the evening before, or store materials. A floor plan will be sent to you through an email once exhibitors are determined.
• Exhibitors agree to keep their display up during event hours of 9 am to 4 pm.
• Access to The Art School of Peterborough is from Charlotte Street or via the Mews Parking area (entrances off Simcoe or Charlotte Streets). Exhibitors are asked to unload then move their vehicles to parking lots, to allow spaces for customers on the street.
• There is ample parking available at the Simcoe Street and King Street Parking garages (both are free on weekends). AON parking at the Mews has one hour free parking (with validation stamp from The Art School of Peterborough), but does charge on Saturdays
• Exhibitors agree to remain within the confines of the marked spaces.
• If you would like additional space, please contact the Art School.
• Exhibitors are responsible for their own Vendor’s Permit and all taxes associated with sales.

• Washroom facilities are available in the Art School.
• All sales will be go through the Art School of Peterborough during The Art of Gifting Event. Commission sales will be 35 % for non members and 30% for members. A cheque will be issued to individual exhibiting artists on November 21st, 2017 for sales during the event.
• Applications are due by October 25th, 2017 at 5 p.m. Notifications will be made via email or phone between Oct 26-30th, 2017.
• The signed application serves as a contract and mutual agreement between The Art School of Peterborough and the applicant. The applicant must sign the form and thereby agrees to abide
by the rules and regulations as indicated on this form. Any discrepancy is to be decided by the Art School representative.

October 26-30 Notification by phone or email

November 18 - the Art of Gifting event

Set up: 7:30 am - 9:30 am

Show: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

November 21 - Cheques will be ready for pick up from sales
